Central restaurant in Oslo
Kaffistova has served traditional Norwegian food for more than a century. The first café opened in 1901 with traditional carved and painted wood-furniture. Some of the original interior is on display at the Norwegian Folk Museum at Bygdøy.
In our days, the cafe is held in a modern and light style with several pictures and details connecting the present with the past. 220 seats on two floors allow us to arrange lunch and dinner for groups up to 100 people.
Japanese, French and American guests frequently visit the restaurant during the summer. They usually find that our menu represents a good opportunity totry the authentic Norwegian cuisine.
We focus on Norwegian cuisine! Delicious, traditional "home-made" food prepared by cheerful chefs. Norwegian specialties such as raspeballer (potato dumplings), boknafisk (dried and salted cod) and rømmegrøt (sour cream porridge) are served in generous portions at friendly prices.
We bake all cakes ourselves, and offer a traditional Norwegian breakfast each morning. Kaffistova is the ideal place for lunch, centrally located with quick and efficient service of both hot and cold dishes
